Welcome!
Welcome to eminec MYmap, your tool for brainstorming, organizing and sharing ideas. This manual is your starting point for exploring eminec MYmap, and it is a useful resource whenever you would like to look up recommended procedures.
Have fun and be productive using eminec MYmap!
The situation
If you develop concepts the traditional way, you usually write down your ideas in no particular order. Then you enter the relevant items into the computer and arrange them, creating a traditional outline. Finally, you devise a presentation to convey the idea to others. You enter the same pieces of information three times; this means you are wasting your time!
The goal
To increase your work efficiency, you would like to
- get more ideas in less time;
- arrange thoughts more clearly;
- make decisions more easily;
- convey concepts more concisely.
Because of that, you are on a search for a software program that supports you along the entire creative process (brainstorm, organize and share ideas).
The way
eminec MYmap complements your existing software. It integrates the steps described above — from brainstorming to structuring your thoughts and presenting them. Gain time on your job, at college, school and in your spare time.
The program is ideal for...
- ... business users. Its powerful features make eminec MYmap an indispensable information and decision tool for teams. If you're just on your own, eminec MYmap helps you to keep large amounts of information well-organized.

- ... ambitious home users. Organize your spare-time activities using eminec MYmap, or print a fancy invitation for a birthday party. eminec MYmap will not impose any limits to your creativity!
As you can see, eminec MYmap is suitable for many tasks on the job and in your spare time alike.
Documentation overview
The eminec MYmap documentation contains various resources which support you on your way from getting to know eminec MYmap to perfecting your proficiency.
Manual
This manual (which can be read online or on paper) contains an introduction to using eminec MYmap, a short description of advanced features and background knowledge about mapping (in the last chapter).
Each chapter can be found on one web page in this online version. This allows you to print the book without any big effort, which means there will be no need to switch between eminec MYmap and your browser during work. Please use your browser's command »File« > »Print«. The document will automatically be reformatted for printing (smaller margins) because it has been created using CSS.
Short reference
Download and print the short reference. It contains a summary of the relevant mouse and keyboard commands of eminec MYmap on just a few pages. The short reference is available for downloading on the documentation server docs.eminec.com. You will need the application Adobe Reader to open and print the reference.
Built-in support options
eminec MYmap contains built-in support options which will be of big use when you start working with the program. If you love exploring new software, please have a look at the following features:
- The guide will give you short descriptions how you can proceed to perform reasonable actions in any given work context. The guide is activated by default. You should really not switch it off in the beginning — it is not going to give you any advice such as »It looks like you're writing a letter...«! You can easily move the guide if it is in the way. Point to the yellow balloon, press and hold the left mouse button, and move the guide to the desired position. Then release the mouse button.
- The status bar can be found on the bottom of the eminec MYmap window. It describes the results of certain actions (such as a mouse click). The status bar is a space-saving and less pushy version of the guide. It is activated by default, too, and it will be a valubale tool for long-time users as well.
