Version history

The original version eminec MYmap 2000 was published in early 2000 and was replaced by eminec MYmap NG in October 2003. The third (and current) generation, called eminec MYmap XG, has been released in summer 2005.

New features for XG

eminec MYmap XG extends the proven set of features of its preceding version eminec MYmap NG. It contains numerous improvements, which are based on customer requests: to improve clarity, branches can be shown or hidden separately, and the new XML export interface allows reuse of information entered into eminec MYmap in other applications. The proprietary EMM file format currently in use will be replaced by an XML-based architecture in the medium term.

The efficiency of the user interface has been increased in many places: the new Map favorites allow you to access frequently used maps easily, and the new full screen mode maximizes the amount of space for your map on screen, which allows you to focus on your ideas. Many new keyboard shortcuts will speed up things a lot for advanced users.

New features for NG

eminec MYmap NG drastically enhances the features of its predecessor eminec MYmap 2000. You may now add cross-connection lines and free text to your maps. These objects complement the branches, sub-branches and illustrations which had already been available in the previous version. This means there is a complete set of mapping objects now. Branches and sub-branches can be converted to free text easily (and vice versa).

The new task panes allow you to access essential eminec MYmap editing commands rapidly. They are split into various tasks, such as »formatting objects« or »editing classes«.

The brainstorming »zzap« mode allows you to add ideas to an unordered list rapidly. (This is great for meetings!) In the next step, you categorize your thoughts by adding main branches and assigning the list entries to the branches. Any worthwhile ideas are transferred to a map during this phase. You do not have to enter the same ideas multiple times, which means you are going to save time.

HTML export creates concise documents, which may contain not only the classic outline, but also user-defined class properties, hyperlinks (objects may have more than one hyperlink now) and notes.
